Recent polling aggregates for Berlin’s September 20, 2026 Abgeordnetenhaus election show the CDU holding a modest lead over the AfD in direct vote-share comparisons, with the CDU typically at 18–20 percent and the AfD at 16–18 percent amid a fragmented field that also includes the Linke at similar levels. Local issues such as housing shortages, public security, and criticism of the incumbent CDU-SPD coalition’s handling of infrastructure disruptions have boosted anti-establishment support for both the AfD and Linke, while national trends favoring the AfD have not fully translated into Berlin-specific gains. The CDU’s organizational base in the capital and its positioning as the leading center-right option have sustained the edge reflected in trader pricing. Upcoming final campaign weeks and any shifts in turnout among undecided or protest voters remain key variables that could narrow or widen the CDU-Afd margin before election day.
