Recent National Weather Service and ensemble model guidance points to a Monday maximum in the low to mid-70s°F for Chicago, driven by a transition from northerly winds behind a weak front to lighter southeasterly flow that limits afternoon heating while increasing cloud cover. This setup caps temperatures below the seasonal average high near 77°F, with the precise peak hinging on the timing and extent of any afternoon clearing versus persistent stratus. Trader consensus in the closely matched 70–73°F bins reflects model spread on boundary-layer mixing and insolation, with fresh runs expected to sharpen resolution criteria ahead of the 24-hour observation window ending midnight local time.
