Current National Weather Service and model guidance for Houston on September 14 project a high near 93°F under mostly sunny skies with a 30-40% chance of afternoon thunderstorms, consistent with an above-average late-summer pattern driven by southerly flow and elevated heat indices. This consensus from recent runs underpins the strong market weighting on 92-93°F, as traders incorporate the limited cooling potential from scattered convection and the absence of stronger frontal systems. Historical September 14 averages near 90°F provide context, while short-term variability in storm timing introduces modest uncertainty that could nudge the daily maximum slightly lower or higher within the favored range. Updated model outputs and NHC/NOAA briefings over the next 48 hours will likely refine these probabilities.
