The IPO refers to the first sale of stock by the listed company to the public on any recognized stock exchange. If the listed company undergoes a merger, this will only qualify for a “No” resolution if the transaction results in the listed company being fully absorbed, dissolved, or otherwise no longer capable of independently conducting an Initial Public Offering. Transactions in which the listed company continues as a parent or successor will not alone qualify for a “No” resolution. This market will resolve early if the listed company completes an IPO by December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET. The resolution source for this market is a consensus of credible reporting.Robust IPO activity in 2026, fueled by supportive equity market conditions, elevated risk appetite, and a deep pipeline of mature private companies, has already produced over 100 U.S. listings year-to-date with approximately $114 billion in proceeds through mid-year. Major debuts such as SpaceX in June, alongside ongoing August pricings in biotech and other sectors, reflect strong demand for scaled issuers. A $2.2 trillion tech pipeline, including names eyeing filings or launches in the second half, combined with analyst forecasts of record proceeds, positions additional offerings well before 2027. Key near-term catalysts include scheduled pricings through year-end and any shifts in Treasury yields or volatility that could influence timing.
