This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the lowest temperature recorded by the Hong Kong Observatory in degrees Celsius on 13 Aug '26. The resolution source for this market will be information from the Hong Kong Observatory, specifically the "Absolute Daily Min (deg. C)" the specified date once information is finalized in the relevant "Daily Extract", available here: https://www.weather.gov.hk/en/cis/climat.htm This market can not resolve until data for this date has been published. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures in Celsius to one decimal place (eg, 9.1°C). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Any revisions to temperatures recorded after data is initially published for this market's timeframe will not be considered for this market's resolution.**Persistent subtropical high pressure and elevated humidity levels are keeping overnight minimum temperatures in Hong Kong anchored near the upper end of the typical August range, producing the tight clustering of market-implied odds around 28–29°C for the lowest temperature on August 13.** Official guidance from the Hong Kong Observatory (HKO) projects a minimum of 27–28°C that night under sunny periods with isolated showers and southwest winds of force 3–4, conditions that limit radiational cooling after sunset. High relative humidity (65–95%) and residual warm, moist air masses from the South China Sea reduce the temperature drop overnight, while the urban heat island effect in the densely built environment further supports readings near or slightly above the long-term average low of ~26–27°C. Slight differences among the leading outcomes hinge on forecast details such as cloud cover timing, shower intensity, and any subtle shifts in steering flow—factors that can alter the exact minimum by 1–2°C. With no incoming tropical cyclone or strong cold surge expected in the next 48 hours, traders see little basis for outcomes below 27°C or above 30°C, aligning probabilities closely with current model consensus.
