**Mild southerly flow and a warm, humid air mass are keeping overnight lows in the upper 60s to low 70s across New York City on September 9, 2026, aligning with the market's heaviest trading around 68–71°F.** Official National Weather Service forecasts from the New York office and supporting model guidance show an early-morning minimum near 68–70°F under partly cloudy skies, with light southwest winds and dew points in the low-to-mid 60s preventing sharper radiational cooling. Recent observations confirm the pattern: Central Park recorded a 61°F low on September 7 and 64°F on September 6, but the current airmass has warmed overnight readings since then. No significant cold front or high-pressure building is expected until Thursday night, leaving limited scope for sub-68°F readings or spikes above 73°F today. Traders are therefore concentrating probability in the narrow 68–71°F range, consistent with the latest NWS guidance and the absence of cooler steering patterns.
