Recent National Weather Service and model guidance point to overnight lows in the mid- to upper 50s °F for San Francisco on September 5, driven by clearing skies after an early-week cold front and moderate west-to-northwest onshore flow that maintains the typical marine influence. Historical September 5 averages near 56 °F provide context, while local variability from the marine layer depth, fog timing, and station-specific exposure (downtown versus coastal) creates the spread reflected in closely matched market-implied odds across bins from the low 50s to low 60s. Stronger or weaker winds, or lingering cloud cover, could shift the minimum by a few degrees either way before resolution.
