Recent model consensus points to a northwest airflow over Wellington on September 4 moderating temperatures while strong winds (25–35 mph) and 60–80% rain chances limit daytime heating. Official guidance from MetService and global ensembles currently favors a high near 16°C, yet the tight 17–18°C market lead reflects recent runs showing possible clearing or delayed frontal passage that could add 1–2°C. Key variables include exact cloud timing, wind shift to cooler southeasterlies, and any shower intensity, all of which remain sensitive to the next 24–48 hours of satellite and sounding data. Historical September maxima average near 14°C, underscoring the current mild anomaly. Traders will watch updated MetService briefings and model runs through September 3 for resolution signals.
