Recent National Weather Service forecasts and model consensus for Houston on September 2 point to daytime highs in the low-to-mid 90s amid scattered showers and thunderstorms, with heat indices potentially exceeding 105°F under humid conditions. Increased Gulf moisture from a monitored tropical disturbance has boosted precipitation probabilities to 50-70%, likely increasing cloud cover and limiting peak solar heating. This uncertainty in convective timing and intensity explains why traders assign the highest implied probabilities to 86-89°F bins rather than higher ranges, as afternoon storms could suppress maxima below guidance. Updated NWS briefings and local radar trends over the next 48 hours will refine these resolution thresholds.
