Chen Ting-fei maintains a dominant position in the Tainan mayoral race as the Democratic Progressive Party nominee following her January 2026 primary victory over fellow legislator Lin Chun-hsien. The Kuomintang's Hsieh Lung-chieh serves as the main challenger, with minor candidates including Lin Yi-feng and Lin Chun-hsien drawing limited support. A March 2026 poll showed Chen leading Hsieh by roughly five points amid Tainan's historical preference for DPP candidates in local contests. Trader consensus reflected in current pricing aligns with these structural advantages and the absence of major shifts since the nominations and July party rallies. The November 28 election date remains the key resolution trigger, with any late polling movement or turnout changes in swing voter blocs potentially influencing final outcomes.
