Spider-Man: Brand New Day’s record $360 million domestic opening in late July anchors current trader sentiment, establishing the film as the year’s clear leader and a strong contender for second place overall. Avengers: Doomsday’s robust presales and December 18 release keep it competitive at 44.5 percent, though holiday overlap with Dune: Messiah introduces uncertainty around final positioning. Other wide releases such as Toy Story 5 and The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping sit at negligible odds, reflecting limited tracking momentum relative to these two Marvel tentpoles. With the year’s top openings now largely defined by these event films, upcoming chart updates and holiday performance will determine whether the market’s near-even split between the leaders shifts before resolution.
