Recent National Weather Service forecasts for Chicago on September 5 project an overnight low near 68°F under partly cloudy skies with light northeast winds, following a daytime high around 80°F amid lingering humidity from prior days in the low 90s. This setup favors a minimum in the upper 60s to low 70s, aligning with trader emphasis on the 72-73°F and 70-71°F bins. Model consensus shows minimal cooling potential overnight due to elevated dew points and weak advection, though slight variations in cloud cover or wind could shift the exact reading by 1-2°F. Historical September averages near 62°F underscore the current anomaly driven by the warm pattern, with resolution hinging on official observations at key stations.
