Lin Kuo-chang, the Democratic Progressive Party nominee, holds a narrow edge in trader pricing for the November 2026 Yilan County magistrate race, ahead of Kuomintang nominee Wu Tsung-hsien and Taiwan People's Party nominee Chen Wan-hui. A May 2026 joint KMT-TPP poll led to Wu securing the unified opposition slot after outperforming Chen, narrowing what had been a fragmented field and prompting immediate endorsement from the TPP. Earlier March surveys showed Lin ahead by roughly 3 points amid high undecided shares, reflecting his local organizational base and public service record against Wu's legislative profile and opposition consolidation push. The tight implied probabilities stem from Yilan's competitive electoral history, ongoing campaign activities including policy-focused events on issues like industry development, and the absence of decisive late-summer polling shifts. Scheduled fall debates, turnout mobilization, and any further alliance signals could alter the balance before election day.
