Recent National Weather Service and local model guidance point to a high near 78°F in Denver on September 17, with scattered afternoon thunderstorms expected under partly to mostly cloudy skies. Cloud cover, precipitation, and evaporative cooling from storms introduce uncertainty around the precise peak, as timing and intensity of convection can suppress or allow brief warming. This aligns with the climatological average high of 78.7°F for the date while explaining tight clustering of market-implied odds on 76–81°F bins. Traders weigh model consensus favoring upper 70s against potential for drier, sunnier conditions to push readings into the low 80s or stronger storms to hold the maximum lower. Updated forecast discussions and radar trends over the next 24 hours will likely refine resolution probabilities.
