The 2026 Tallahassee mayoral primary on August 18 remains tightly contested following candidate qualifying, which closed June 12 and confirmed four main entrants: former state Senator Loranne Ausley, City Commissioner Jeremy Matlow, attorney Daryl Parks, and businessman Michael Foust. Traders price the field near even odds because the candidates share overlapping Democratic-leaning support bases in a nonpartisan race, with Ausley drawing on statewide name recognition and recent fundraising leads, Matlow leveraging local commission experience and donor breadth, Parks relying on early outside contributions, and Foust positioned as a potential alternative. Limited public polling and recent candidate forums have not yet produced clear separation. Key upcoming catalysts include August primary turnout, any runoff dynamics on November 3, and further finance reports that could shift momentum among the top contenders.
