Jesper de Jong holds a ranking advantage and stronger recent clay-court results heading into this Roland Garros qualifier, building on solid performances in the European clay swing including matches at Rome and Madrid. Liam Draxl brings consistent hard-court form and Challenger success but has shown less adaptation to slower surfaces in 2026. Their sole prior meeting occurred on indoor hard in January 2025, with Draxl winning in straight sets. Both players seek a main-draw spot on the red clay, where baseline rallies, movement, and endurance often decide outcomes in qualification rounds. De Jong’s higher ranking and clay pedigree position him as the more experienced contender in this matchup.
