Dalton Eatherly, known online as Chud the Builder, faces attempted criminal homicide and related firearm charges stemming from a May 2026 shooting outside the Montgomery County Courthouse in Clarksville, Tennessee, during a confrontation with Joshua Fox. Court records show the case was bound over to the grand jury after an initial hearing, with bond held at $1 million plus curfew and other conditions; no indictment, trial date, or plea has been reported as of early August. Eatherly’s livestreamed self-defense claim and Tennessee stand-your-ground provisions remain central, while surveillance footage cited in the affidavit depicts him reaching for a firearm first. These unresolved procedural steps and evidentiary disputes underpin trader consensus that a conviction on the attempted murder charge is unlikely in the near term.
