Recent high-pressure building and sunny skies under easterly flow are driving trader consensus toward a 90-91°F high for Atlanta on September 9, with 31% implied probability. After a cooler frontal passage dropped highs into the low-to-mid 80s on September 7, subsidence and clear conditions are promoting strong daytime heating, pushing temperatures back toward the lower 90s. National Weather Service guidance and ensemble means center on 89-91°F, consistent with late-summer climatology slightly above the 85°F average while dew points near 65-70°F limit extreme heat indices. Light winds and minimal cloud cover through the day reduce uncertainty, though any model shift introducing afternoon moisture could cap readings near 88°F. Updated NWS forecasts and morning model runs remain the key near-term catalysts.
