Current NWS forecasts and supporting model guidance point to sunny skies and highs in the mid-90s for Houston on September 20, establishing the primary driver behind the market’s emphasis on 94–95°F. Light easterly to southeasterly winds and minimal cloud cover support modest afternoon warming above the 88.5°F seasonal average, while recent days of similar mid-90s readings reinforce trader expectations. Ensemble spreads introduce limited upside potential into the mid- to upper-90s if mixing or insolation exceeds guidance, yet downside risk remains constrained absent a stronger frontal passage. Updated NWS briefings and morning model runs on September 19–20 will provide the final inputs before resolution.
