Recent forecasts from multiple meteorological sources converge on a maximum temperature of 28–29°C for Shanghai on September 17, driven by persistent easterly to northeasterly flow advecting moist maritime air from the East China Sea. This pattern supports light rain or overcast conditions that limit daytime solar heating and suppress peaks above 29°C. Current observations on September 16 show highs near 29–30°C under partly cloudy skies, with the incoming moisture expected to moderate temperatures slightly. Model consensus and historical late-September climatology for the region reinforce the market-implied emphasis on 28°C, as stronger warming would require clearer skies or a shift to drier westerly flow, which is not indicated in near-term guidance.
