Lukáš Hájek leads as the candidate for Starostové pro Liberecký kraj in the October 9-10, 2026 municipal elections, after the party chose to contest independently following years of coalitions and current mayor Jaroslav Zámečník declined to seek another term. Traders price Hájek highest because his party holds the largest bloc of seats on the outgoing council and has focused its campaign on continuity in infrastructure, schools, and transport. The fragmented field, including challengers such as Tomáš Rec and Jiří Veselka plus newer groupings like Libe!, keeps the outcome dependent on post-election coalition talks rather than first-place vote totals alone. Recent candidate debates and the absence of a clear majority path maintain tight pricing across options until clearer polling or alliance signals emerge closer to the vote.
