Recent polls ahead of the September 6 Landtag election in Sachsen-Anhalt show the AfD leading with 40-42 percent while the CDU holds steady in second at 22-23 percent, followed by The Left at 11-13 percent. This consistent gap across multiple surveys from Forschungsgruppe Wahlen, Infratest dimap, and others underpins trader consensus on the CDU for second place. Incumbent Minister-President Sven Schulze outperforms AfD challenger Ulrich Siegmund in head-to-head assessments, and the short remaining campaign window limits scope for major shifts. Other parties trail further behind, with the SPD, Greens, and smaller groups polling well under 10 percent. A late surge by The Left or another contender could narrow the margin, though current data indicate limited volatility.
