The 28-year-old Croatian brings more experience in Grand Slam qualifying and greater physical presence at 6-foot-5, which could prove advantageous on the slower clay. Sascha Gueymard Wayenburg, a 22-year-old Frenchman ranked No. 265, has shown flashes in lower-tier events but arrives with a mixed recent record and limited prior success at this level. Home-soil support and familiarity with Paris conditions may offer the younger player an early boost, yet Gojo’s head-to-head edge in quality and form should define the matchup unless an upset occurs through superior movement or serve breaks.
