Recent National Weather Service and ensemble model guidance points to southerly flow and partly cloudy skies driving daytime highs into the mid-80s across New York City on September 9, consistent with the market’s heaviest weighting on the 84–85 °F and 86–87 °F bins. Light to moderate SSW winds advect warmer maritime air while limited cloud cover allows strong September insolation; however, minor model spread in boundary-layer moisture and exact wind trajectory keeps the 86–87 °F outcome within striking distance. Historical climatology places the early-September normal near 79 °F, so the current setup represents a modest warm anomaly that traders are pricing through updated forecast runs expected before resolution.
