Forecast models from the National Weather Service and private sources converge on a high near 80–85°F for Los Angeles on September 5, with the strongest consensus in the low-to-mid 80s for inland areas and slightly cooler readings near the coast due to persistent onshore southwest flow. This pattern features moderate sea breezes and a shallow marine layer that limits daytime heating, keeping maximum temperatures above the 76.6°F climatological average yet well below heat-wave thresholds. Model runs show minimal disagreement on timing or intensity, supporting the market's tight clustering around the 80–81°F bin as traders weigh these moderating influences against the potential for brief clearing that could push readings a degree or two higher.
