**CDU maintains a commanding position for second place in the September 6, 2026, Sachsen-Anhalt Landtag election due to stable polling trends showing AfD ahead at 41–43 percent while CDU holds 22–24 percent.** Recent surveys from INSA, Infratest dimap, and others confirm this gap has persisted through summer 2026, placing CDU well ahead of Die Linke (around 13 percent), SPD (6–7 percent), and smaller parties. The change in CDU leadership to Sven Schulze earlier in the year has not altered the underlying voter distribution. With the election three weeks away, traders view a shift allowing Die Linke, AfD, or others to claim second as unlikely absent major late developments such as turnout surges among specific blocs or unforeseen campaign events. Current pricing reflects this consistent hierarchy across multiple pollsters.
