Recent U.S. employment data showing subdued August job growth has tempered expectations for near-term Federal Reserve tightening, keeping the DXY near 99 amid a 52-week range of roughly 95.55–101.80. With Labor Day closing U.S. markets on September 7, trading volumes will likely remain light early in the week before August PPI and CPI releases on September 10–11 provide fresh signals on inflation trends and the September 16 FOMC decision. Treasury yields, currently elevated, continue to underpin dollar strength relative to peers, while any softer-than-expected inflation prints could pressure rate-hike odds and weigh on the index. Traders are monitoring these data points for shifts in implied policy paths and yield differentials that typically drive short-term DXY moves.
