Trader consensus around 86–89°F for Los Angeles’s September 8 high reflects model agreement on peak heating under a strong high-pressure ridge and residual tropical moisture from Hurricane Marie. This setup suppresses the typical marine layer, allowing greater insolation while onshore flow and afternoon sea breezes moderate coastal stations relative to inland valleys. Recent National Weather Service guidance shows downtown and basin readings climbing into the low-to-mid 90s before cooling, with LAX forecasts centering near 87°F. Minor spread among leading bins stems from small differences in wind timing and boundary-layer mixing that can shift the daily maximum by 1–2°F. Historical September averages near 77°F underscore the anomaly driven by the current synoptic pattern.
