Trader consensus reflects uncertainty in whether downtown Los Angeles will peak at or above 96°F amid a heat advisory on September 9, with NWS forecasts calling for highs near 101°F under sunny skies and lingering humidity from prior tropical moisture. Coastal sites like LAX show lower guidance around 92–93°F due to stronger marine influence and afternoon onshore flow. Recent model runs and observations from September 7–8 highs near 93°F highlight sensitivity to steering patterns and sea breeze timing, which could limit inland peaks. Updated National Weather Service briefings and real-time station data through the afternoon will clarify resolution thresholds across the 96°F+ and 94–95°F bins.
