**KPRF holds an overwhelming edge for second place in Russia's September 2026 State Duma elections because it remains the most established systemic opposition force with a consistent nationwide base, while United Russia is projected to retain its parliamentary majority.** Recent WCIOM and FOM polls place United Russia well ahead at 34–52 percent, with KPRF, LDPR, and New People clustered in the 9–15 percent range behind the 5 percent threshold. The Supreme Court’s August disqualification of the anti-war Yabloko party has narrowed options for dissenting voters, reinforcing the position of registered parliamentary parties. Candidate registration concluded in mid-August with United Russia fielding the largest slate, followed by KPRF, New People, and LDPR. Trader consensus reflected in the market prices treats KPRF’s organizational strength and historical performance as the most reliable path to second place among the permitted contenders.
