Current National Weather Service forecasts and ensemble model guidance for Austin on September 6 point to a daytime high in the upper 90s under partly cloudy skies, with a modest afternoon thunderstorm risk that could cap peak readings. This aligns with the market's tight clustering around 94–97°F, reflecting above-normal early-September warmth relative to the 1991–2020 average high of 93.4°F and the influence of southerly flow maintaining elevated dew points and heat indices near 105°F. Minor forecast spreads in convective timing and boundary-layer mixing create the close probabilities between the 94–95°F and 96–97°F bins, while lower odds on 98°F+ outcomes account for potential cooling from scattered storms. Updated model runs and the next NWS discussion will provide the key near-term refinements ahead of resolution.
