Forecast models from the National Weather Service and other sources converge on a high near 99°F for Austin on September 9 under mostly sunny skies with light southeast winds, supporting the market's strong consensus around 98–99°F. Persistent high pressure and southerly flow from the Gulf maintain elevated temperatures and humidity well above the 1991–2020 average high of 92.6°F for the date, while a modest 20% chance of afternoon showers or thunderstorms introduces limited cooling potential that could keep readings in the mid-to-upper 90s. Heat index values near 105–107°F underscore the ongoing late-summer pattern, with recent days already exceeding 100°F reinforcing trader expectations for another hot outcome absent significant cloud cover or precipitation.
