Persistent high pressure and southerly flow from the Gulf of Mexico maintain warm, humid conditions over Houston on September 20, with National Weather Service forecasts projecting overnight lows in the upper 70s amid partly cloudy skies and light southeast winds. Recent climatological data show September lows averaging near 71°F historically, but the current pattern lacks cooling mechanisms such as frontal passages or clear radiational nights, keeping minimums elevated. Official observations through September 18–19 recorded lows of 72–77°F, reinforcing trader consensus around the 76–77°F bin as the most probable outcome while assigning lower probability to cooler thresholds that would require atypical advection or cloud cover.
