This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the lowest temperature recorded by NOAA at the San Francisco International Airport Station in degrees Fahrenheit on 5 Sep '26. The resolution source for this market will be information from NOAA, specifically the lowest reading under the "Temp" column for all times on this day, available here: https://www.weather.gov/wrh/timeseries?site=ksfo This market will resolve off of the Hourly Data provided using the "Show Hourly Data" button. If NOAA data for the observation date is unavailable by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, the Weather Underground Daily Observations table will be used as the resolution source. In the event that there is no data for the observation date by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, this market will resolve to the lowest bracket. To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the "Switch to US Units w/ kts" button until the relevant table displays °F. This market will resolve once the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source, or by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, whichever comes first. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Fahrenheit (eg, 21°F). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.**Forecast consensus centers on a minimum near the seasonal average of 56°F, with marine influences and model outputs pinning the likely range in the mid-to-upper 50s.** Onshore westerly flow and a moderate marine layer are expected to prevent significant overnight cooling or warming, keeping the low close to the long-term September 5 average of 56.1°F recorded at downtown stations. Recent NWS and private model guidance (including WindBorne and local forecasts) consistently project a low of 56–57°F under partly cloudy skies and light-to-moderate west winds, with minimal model spread. Trader positioning reflects this tight clustering: the 56–57°F and 58–59°F bins dominate at 40.5% and 38.5% implied probability because they align directly with the most probable outcomes from official guidance, while the elevated 47°F-or-below price (37.5%) likely captures residual tail risk from forecast uncertainty or station-specific microclimates rather than current data. Historical records show lows below 52°F on this date are rare (last near 50°F in 1999), reinforcing the market’s focus on the narrow band around the baseline. No major synoptic shifts—such as a strong offshore flow or unusual fog patterns—are anticipated before resolution, so updates to the evening model runs or real-time observations will be the key near-term drivers.
