Washington's 3rd Congressional District top-two primary on August 4 features 12 candidates, including Democratic incumbent Marie Gluesenkamp Pérez facing left-flank challengers Brent Hennrich, Austin Braswell, and Troy Rasband, alongside leading Republican John Braun and other GOP contenders like Lawrence Kellogg. The May 8 filing deadline crystallized the field in this R+2 battleground, where Pérez holds a dominant fundraising edge with over $3.4 million cash on hand versus Braun's $918,000. A recent NRCC poll of likely voters showed Braun leading Pérez 41%-34% head-to-head, with her 50% unfavorable rating and soft 69% Democratic support signaling vulnerability that could fragment votes and boost Republican primary positioning. Race ratings range from Toss-up to Lean Democratic, with trader consensus reflecting poll-driven uncertainty ahead of the nonpartisan contest advancing the top two finishers.
