Recent National Weather Service forecasts for Chicago indicate an overnight low in the upper 60s to low 70s on September 9, driven by persistent cloud cover, scattered showers, and southwest winds that limit radiational cooling. Model consensus supports this range, with temperatures bottoming near 67–70°F amid humid conditions and a lack of strong high pressure to promote clear skies or colder air advection. These outcomes align with the market’s leading implied probabilities for 67°F or below and the adjacent bins, reflecting trader assessment of current observational data and short-term model runs. Warmer-than-average conditions for early September further reduce odds of sub-67°F readings, while upcoming evening observations and any late-day forecast adjustments could refine resolution.
