Recent National Weather Service forecasts and GFS model guidance point to a minimum temperature in the mid-60s Fahrenheit for Chicago on September 11, driven by clear skies, light southerly flow, and minimal overnight radiational cooling ahead of a gradual seasonal transition. Trader sentiment remains split near even odds between sub-52°F and 70°F-plus outcomes because ensemble spreads show potential for stronger northerly advection or cloud cover that could shift the low by several degrees. Historical climatology places the September 11 normal low near 61°F, providing context for how deviations in steering patterns or dewpoint profiles could resolve the market, with updated model runs and NWS briefings expected to narrow the range before resolution.
