Recent polls for the September 20, 2026, Berlin state election show the Greens consistently ahead of the SPD by 3–5 points, with the Greens at 16–18% and the SPD at 12–15%. This gap reflects the SPD’s broader national weakness and its limited appeal in Berlin despite governing in coalition with the CDU. Candidate positioning, voter priorities on housing and local issues, and turnout patterns among left-leaning and urban voters further support the Greens’ edge in direct head-to-head comparisons. Traders have priced this sustained polling differential into the implied probability for the Greens receiving more votes.
