Johnny Chiang holds an 88.5% implied probability in the Taichung mayoral race due to his March 2026 KMT nomination after prevailing in the party primary over legislator Yang Chiung-ying. As the opposition KMT candidate, he faces DPP legislator Ho Hsin-chun in the November 28, 2026 election, with traders viewing Chiang’s established profile and party infrastructure as a decisive edge in this key city contest. Ho’s candidacy, confirmed earlier by the DPP, registers at 6%, while Yang sits at 2%, reflecting limited residual support. No major shifts have emerged in the intervening months to alter the trader consensus around the two-party matchup.
