Recent National Weather Service forecasts and model consensus project a high near 100–101°F for Austin on September 2, driven by strong daytime insolation under partly to mostly sunny skies, light southwesterly flow, and warm-air advection ahead of any afternoon convection. This places readings 5–7°F above the 1991–2020 climatological average of 94°F, with heat indices potentially exceeding 105°F. Trader emphasis on the 100–101°F bin over 98–99°F reflects limited cooling potential from scattered storms, as steering patterns and boundary-layer moisture favor sustained warmth unless outflow boundaries arrive earlier than currently modeled. Final resolution hinges on official observations from Austin-Bergstrom or Camp Mabry, with the next model runs and NWS updates likely refining storm timing overnight.
