This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the highest temperature recorded by NOAA at the William P. Hobby Airport Station in degrees Fahrenheit on 24 Aug '26. The resolution source for this market will be information from NOAA, specifically the highest reading under the "Temp" column for all times on this day, available here: https://www.weather.gov/wrh/timeseries?site=khou This market will resolve off of the Hourly Data provided using the "Show Hourly Data" button. To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the "Switch to US Units w/ kts" button until the relevant table displays °F. This market can not resolve until the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source. Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.**Official forecasts from the National Weather Service and supporting models indicate a high near 100–102°F for Houston on August 24, 2026, under continued sunny, hot conditions with southwest winds and heat indices near 110°F.** Recent observations show Houston Intercontinental reaching 103°F on August 22 and similar extremes on the 23rd amid a persistent heat wave with minimal cloud cover or moisture. This setup favors strong daytime solar heating in late-summer climatology, where normal highs average near 95°F but current patterns have pushed readings well above that. Model consensus and the absence of significant steering changes or precipitation keep the highest probability concentrated in the 98–101°F range, with lower odds for outliers reflecting typical forecast spread and station-specific measurement variability. New model runs and morning updates remain the key near-term catalysts.
