**A persistent heat wave driven by strong high pressure and elevated humidity has positioned the National Weather Service forecast for a 96°F high in Los Angeles on September 10 as the dominant factor behind the 57% market-implied probability for 94°F or higher.** Official guidance highlights sunny conditions with heat indices potentially reaching 108°F amid the event’s peak, well above the September average high near 77°F. Recent days saw downtown Los Angeles hit 105°F and nearby sites set records, while model consensus and onshore flow suggest only modest cooling from prior peaks. Lower bins (90–93°F) hold the remaining notable shares as traders weigh any late-day marine layer influence or slight forecast revisions. The market reflects skin-in-the-game consensus on these near-term observational thresholds rather than longer-range trends.
