Recent forecasts from the National Weather Service and private models indicate mostly sunny skies and a high near the 81°F seasonal average for August 29 in New York City, following clearing after midweek showers. Northerly flow under building high pressure supports efficient daytime heating without excessive humidity or cloud cover, keeping the peak close to climatological norms rather than the warmer mid-80s seen earlier in August. Model consensus clusters tightly around 80–83°F, with minor spread arising from exact timing of any residual boundary-layer mixing and wind shifts. This uncertainty, combined with the resolution criteria centered on the official Central Park observation, explains why trader-implied probabilities favor the 80–81°F bin while assigning meaningful weight to adjacent ranges.
