Recent National Weather Service and local model guidance show partly cloudy conditions with onshore westerly flow and a moderate marine layer expected to produce overnight lows in the mid-50s for San Francisco on August 29, aligning closely with the 1991–2020 climatological average minimum of 56°F. Trader sentiment remains split between the 56–57°F and 49°F-or-below bins because small variations in boundary-layer moisture, wind speed, and stratus coverage can shift the minimum by several degrees through differences in radiational cooling and turbulent mixing. Stronger onshore flow or thicker low clouds would limit cooling and favor the higher range, while clearer skies or lighter winds could enhance surface heat loss and push readings toward or below historical extremes near 48°F. Ensemble spreads from GFS and ECMWF remain modest but highlight this sensitivity ahead of final overnight observations.
