Recent National Weather Service and private model guidance for New York City on September 5, 2026, centers on a high near 79–80 °F under sunny skies and northerly flow, after mid-80s readings earlier in the week. This positioning reflects a post-frontal air mass with reduced humidity and modest daytime mixing, keeping the peak just below or at the seasonal average of 79.8 °F. Traders have clustered probability on the 78–81 °F buckets because small differences in boundary-layer wind speed or residual cloud cover could shift the observed maximum by 1–2 °F, while longer-range ensembles show limited spread around this solution. Upcoming 00Z and 12Z model runs from NOAA will refine confidence before resolution at LaGuardia.
