Recent National Weather Service forecasts and model consensus indicate a cooler air mass advecting into the Northeast behind a weak frontal passage, with northerly winds and mostly clear skies expected overnight into September 5. This setup favors radiational cooling under light winds, positioning overnight lows in the mid-to-upper 60s °F for New York City locations such as Central Park. Official tabular forecasts currently show a 67 °F low, aligning with the market’s heaviest trading around 66–69 °F bins. Ensemble guidance exhibits limited spread due to the stable post-frontal pattern, though minor revisions in dewpoint or cloud cover could nudge outcomes toward the 70–71 °F range. Updated model runs and NWS briefings ahead of the weekend will provide the next key data points for traders assessing these probabilities.
