Official Japan Meteorological Agency guidance for August 12 points to cloudy skies with occasional scattered showers across Tokyo, which is expected to restrict daytime heating and keep the official maximum near 27–28°C. Ensemble model consensus from regional forecasts shows limited instability and modest humidity under these conditions, consistent with trader-implied probabilities clustering tightly around those values rather than higher outcomes. Historical August baselines average 31–33°C on clearer days, but the approaching frontal influence and precipitation probability above 50% introduce realistic downside risk to peak readings. Updated model runs and the next JMA briefing within 24 hours represent key data points that could shift sentiment if skies clear or convection strengthens unexpectedly.
