Forecast models for Zhengzhou on September 18 indicate a narrow range of possible daytime maxima centered on 26–29°C, consistent with the closely bunched market-implied odds. Light southerly winds, increasing cloud cover, and a modest chance of drizzle are limiting surface heating while suppressing stronger radiational cooling overnight. These conditions align with typical mid-September patterns in the North China Plain, where average highs hover near 26–28°C amid transitional monsoon influences. Ensemble spreads arise mainly from differences in predicted cloud thickness and timing of any weak frontal moisture, creating the observed tight clustering between 26°C and 29°C outcomes. Updated guidance from regional meteorological centers expected later today could further refine the peak temperature distribution ahead of market resolution.
