Recent National Weather Service and model guidance for Austin shows mostly clear skies, light southerly winds, and high pressure supporting overnight radiational cooling, with the daily minimum temperature expected in the mid-70s°F. This aligns with climatological norms for late August, where average lows near 72°F can vary several degrees based on dew point levels, cloud cover, and urban heat retention at the Austin-Bergstrom station. The tight clustering of market-implied odds around 74–77°F and higher ranges reflects model spread in exact minimums, potential for localized variations, and uncertainty in how quickly temperatures bottom out before sunrise. No significant frontal passages or moisture surges have altered the pattern in recent days, keeping the outcome sensitive to final observational data.
