National Weather Service forecasts for Austin on August 28 project a high near 100°F under mostly sunny skies, with heat indices reaching 110°F amid light easterly winds and minimal precipitation chances. This outlook reflects gradual moderation from the persistent subtropical ridge that drove recent highs of 102–107°F, as the ridge shifts westward and allows slight moisture influx without substantial cloud cover or cooling. Trader consensus splitting between 98–99°F and 100–101°F brackets stems from model variability in afternoon peak timing, local urban heat effects, and the precise steering of any weak boundary, with official updates from NWS Austin/San Antonio expected to refine the range ahead of resolution.
